Morels, "The Sacred Mushroom," grow only in the spring months in moist forest soil. Prized for their culinary versatility, morels add depth and earthiness to any dish. Because of their short growing season, this rare fungi is often dried to be used in fall and winter months. Rehydrate by soaking in water for about 20 minutes or until soft. Strain and save the soaking liquid (it's full of morel flavor) to elevate your risottos and broths. Sweat & sautee the mushrooms with butter and shallots to serve as a decadent side dish. Or, incorporate them into your favorite recipe. This mushroom can do it all and now you can too, year-round!
These mushrooms were harvested here in the USA in the 2020 season. Each package is marked with the state of origin (sorry, can’t tell you where the secret spots are!)
Dried with care to extend the shelf life and concentrate the flavor.
Two Ounces of dried mushrooms is equivalent to roughly 1 lb fresh mushrooms.
