Pink Oyster (Pleurotus djamor)

Flavor/texture: Hearty, meaty, aromatic

Oyster mushroom varieties are the highest yielding strain available and yield some seriously cool looking clusters.

In the kitchen they can be used to elevate many recipes calling for common button mushrooms, shiitake, etc. Chop them up and they become an excellent replacement for bacon bits. Use them for depth in flavor and texture for your favorite fall soups, pasta dishes, and more. Pink oysters typically take on flavors of accompanying ingredients, making them incredible versatile for home chefs!

This variety offers more vigorous colonization, making it suitable for year-round cultivation. Be sure to cook them soon after harvest- these pink beauties are best consumed fresh!

Our current processing time (preparing and packing the live organism for shipping) is about 6 business days. We can only ship on Mondays and Tuesdays(and sometimes Wednesdays) to avoid overheating/mistreatment in transit over the weekend.
The shipping time you choose at checkout applies to the time it takes for the carrier to deliver it after they have picked it up from the farm.

Huge crop of pink oyster mushrooms that weighed in at around 1.5 lbs! Made an excellent frittata, and lemon chicken dish, with enough left over to put on a home made pizza. I grew golden oysters previously. The pink one are thicker and faster growing. I got a much bigger yield. Now I'm waiting on my second growth of the pinks.

Everything started off well, the mushroom was growing. Unfortunately I had two issues and maybe growing on my boats not a good option. The air circulation in the boat is rather breezy and one side of the mushroom dried out even spraying many times a day. Then we had a really hot day and the AC kicked off for an hour. The temp reached 90 F and the mushrooms done nothing since. I read the oyster mycelium can handle short terms to 40c but it doesn’t seem so. I recommend the company, it’s a good solid product. I’d love to try again but I’m worried the environments not conducive. But, you won’t be disappointed and man, if I had little ones around, what a great family project.

Came into pinning very quickly ( < 10 days) and huge first flush. Then an *immediate* second flush in only 3-4 days. Very satisfactory, very aggressive oyster strain. Tasty, too: most of the body is tender, and the flavour is nice and rich. Excellent kit. I recommend it most highly.

The pink oyster mushrooms have been booming! My second harvest is growing now and nearly ready to be picked. They're really improved the instructions and information that comes with the kit, and have suggestions on how to tackle different situations, or how to tell if the kit looks dried out. Plus, they taste great, especially with a thick sauce.
